Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (“CD&R”) today announced the appointment of Russell P. Fradin, former President and Chief Executive Officer of SunGard Data Systems Inc. (“SunGard”), as an Operating Partner, effective April 1, 2016.
Mr. Fradin has a demonstrated track record of driving operational success and innovation across a range of market-leading services companies, as well as information and technology-related businesses. His prior senior executive positions include serving as the chief executive at SunGard (2011-2015), Aon Hewitt (2006-2011) and BISYS Group (2004-2006).
“Russ is a talented leader who is recognized for successfully implementing initiatives to increase top-line growth and improve operating efficiency, as well as building strong management teams,” said Donald J. Gogel, CD&R’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We’ve known Russ for many years, and are thrilled to have him join us.”

CD&R’s full-time operating partners have held senior leadership positions in major global corporations across a range of industries. They work actively with the Firm on sourcing and evaluating new transactions as well as providing strategic insights related to CD&R portfolio company matters.
Mr. Fradin served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at SunGard from May 2011 until the company’s acquisition by FIS™ (NYSE:FIS) in November of this year. Under Mr. Fradin’s leadership, SunGard grew to 12,000 employees and reported $2.8 billion in revenues in 2014.
Prior to SunGard, Mr. Fradin served from September 2006 to May 2011 as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aon Hewitt, a global leader in human resource solutions. During his tenure, Mr. Fradin oversaw the successful September 2010 merger between Aon Consulting and Hewitt Associates, having been Chief Executive Officer of Hewitt since 2006. Previously, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer of the BISYS Group and held a range of senior executive positions at Automatic Data Processing, both providers of business outsourcing solutions. In addition, he worked for many years as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he was a senior partner.
Mr. Fradin holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
